Year-in-review season, for any log you keep

Year Reel

The apps you use make a recap of your year. Make one for the things they never see: the runs in your notes app, the books on a list, the gigs, the films, the pottery classes. Paste the log - a date and a line each - and the page counts it as you type. Then build the reel: tap-through story cards with your big numbers, your top five and a name for the kind of year it was.

One entry per line, starting with a date: 2026-03-14, Mar 14, 14 Mar, 03/14 or 03-14-2026. A line with only a month name works as a header for the lines under it. Add #tags and amounts like 10 km, 320 pages, 45 min or $18.

Lengths, in order: fewer than 6 dated entries is needs more log (3 cards and a list of what to add); fewer than 20 entries or fewer than 4 months is a short reel (5 cards); otherwise a full reel (8 cards). Every fact is arithmetic on your lines.
